Dr. Whitfield Diffie, considered the "father of public key encryption," will be inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame on May 4 in Washington D.C. Diffie, who serves as chief cryptographer of Revere Security (http://reveresecurity.com), in 1976 developed public key cryptography (PKC), a method for securing electronic communication that is now considered vital to security on the Internet and to e-commerce.
