MELBOURNE, April 5 AAP - A Melbourne man charged with murder after an 18-year-old was
struck and killed by a train on Saturday made a brief court appearance today.

Justin Noel Waters, 20, of Dobell Place, Mooroolbark, is charged over the death at
Mooroolbark railway station of Christopher Bourke, of Lilydale.

Police said yesterday that Mr Bourke died after he and Waters were involved in an altercation
about 4.40pm (AEST) Saturday.

Mr Bourke's body remained under the train for hours on Saturday night as police examined
the scene and homicide detectives spoke to witnesses.

Waters, dressed in a black T-shirt and tracksuit pants, remained expressionless during
the brief hearing today.

He did not apply for bail.

Chief Magistrate Ian Gray remanded Waters to reappear in the same court on July 26.
