Qld; Man bashed and robbed at caravan park

An elderly man has been violently bashed and robbed during a robbery at a caravan park
in the Lockyer Valley west of Brisbane overnight.

Police report the 60-year-old resident of the Helidon Spa Caravan Park was assaulted
around 7pm and left tied up for an hour, while the two assailants fled in the man's car.

Southern Region Crime Co-ordinator Detective Senior Sergeant MICK NYLAND says the man
had his hands and feet tied behind his back.

Sgt NYLAND has told ABC radio the men put a knife to the man's throat and demanded
his bank pin number.

Sgt NYLAND says the man received injuries to his nose and jaw.
