Fed: Anderson challenges Smith to a debate

Transport Minister JOHN ANDERSON has challenged Australian entrepreneur DICK SMITH
to a debate over Mr SMITH's attack on the minister's performance.

Mr SMITH is reportedly planning to campaign in Mr ANDERSON's electorate during the
federal election, saying the deputy prime minister has failed to implement aviation safety
reform.

Mr SMITH told ABC radio he is going to Mr ANDERSON's electorate and explain to the
voters there just what a wimp the National Party leader is.

But Mr ANDERSON has challenged Mr SMITH to fly to his north-west NSW seat of Gwydir
and thrash out the issue face-to-face.
